Carmen Qualls, Esq., is the Founder and lead attorney at the law firm of Carmen Qualls & Associates. Ms. Qualls began her career in the legal field in 1993 under the mentorship of the legendary Johnnie L. Cochran Jr. as a Legal Assistant where she, ultimately, served as the Chief Liaison Legal Secretary between defense attorneys, external entities, witnesses, and the media in the case of People v. O.J. Simpson. Additionally, she worked for several other attorneys at the firm, namely, Carl E. Douglas and Cameron Stewart.
Ms. Qualls transitioned to her own paralegal firm in 1998 working for sole practitioners as well as part time for Johnnie L. Cochran, Jr. and Leslie H. Abramson. Ms. Qualls gained extensive knowledge in Probate/Trust Administration, Estate Planning and Family Law in her paralegal practice and worked with numerous sole practitioners in the areas of Personal Injury, Employment Law, Real Estate and Business Law.
Born in California and reared in Los Angeles, Ms. Qualls not only has an extensive knowledge and understanding of the Los Angeles area but, also, of the community she serves. Ms. Qualls is a Real Estate Broker and has worked in the real estate industry since 1988 being versed in real estate matters.
Ms. Qualls began her career as an attorney in 2007 in the practice areas of Probate/Trust Administration, Estate Planning and Family Law where she has honed her legal skills in the Probate and Trust arena to also include Conservatorship and Guardianship matters. Ms. Qualls is a member of the Court Appointed Counsel Panel ("CAC") being appointed by the Court as counsel for Conservatee's in Conservatorship matters.
Ms. Qualls has been very successful in Trial but, particularly, in settlement negotiations of estate issues amongst family members.
Ms. Qualls is passionate about defending family members who have been taken advantage of by other family members, and/or strangers. Ms. Qualls fiercely defends against those who infiltrate themselves into the lives of individuals who are highly susceptible to undue influence due to mental and/or physical frailty. Ms. Qualls has induced numerous unnatural estate distribution(s) due to undue influence to be overturned.
Ms. Qualls has formed substantial alliances in the Trusts/Estate Community in numerous counties, namely, Los Angeles, Ventura and San Bernardino County to name a few.
As a trained Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma, Ms. Qualls presents with an empathetic approach to legal matters.
